Nuran was founded in 2007 by a group of young Palestinians from East Jerusalem, who are all professional paramedics.  Nuran was established in order to provide emergency response and first-aid services to the Palestinian community of East Jerusalem. Nuran also provides emergency and first-aid training to schools and community centers, including students, staff, and parents.  By providing emergency first response aid to parts of Jerusalem which, due to political circumstances, are not served by ambulances, Nuran satisfies a real need.  Nuran is a non-profit organization and is staffed entirely by volunteers.
